As the end of the quarter quickly approaches it is important to make sure grades are the best they can be. Below are some last-minute things to try to improve your grades.
Start by checking HAC and going through each class individually and writing down any uncompleted assignments or low grades.
Once the assignments have been written down any assignments you want to try to improve the grades on, highlight or mark the product grades because these assignments will have the biggest impact on your overall grade.
If the assignment is past due or is attempting to be redone once it has already been submitted, make sure to communicate with the teacher to make sure it can still be submitted or resubmitted at this time.
If the teacher offers test corrections or retakes these would be the assignments that could boost a grade the most and it is important that if either of these are offered that these are prioritized.
Process grades are the next best assignments to redo or submit if allowed to bring up a grade although they won’t have as large of an impact on an overall grade in the class as a product assignment would.
Lastly any extra credit assignments could give a grade a small push especially if a grade is floating between one letter and another.
CAV cards may be a possibility ask a teacher if they are allowed to be used in that class, but every teacher has a different policy when it comes to CAV cards so make sure to have a conversation ahead of time.
When communicating with teachers, it is possible to communicate in person or over email but remember to be understanding and respectful if the teacher does not accept late work.
During these last few days of the quarter make sure to stay on top of any last-minute assignments and not push any work off.
The end of the quarter is also the time when most benchmarks and finals are taken so it is important to be present at school to be as prepared as possible for any upcoming tests.
