The recent overwhelming amount of love that energy drinks have generated on social media has started a new craze of “dirty” energy drinks. These fun concoctions mix your preferred energy drink and other ingredients like heavy cream or coconut milk to create a “dirty” energy drink. Here are some of the most intriguing recipes of “dirty” energy drinks that have popped up on TikTok’s fyp.
My introduction to this topic on TikTok was from the dirty protein Alani. This recipe takes a FairLife Core Power Protein Shake, an Alani Nu energy drink of your choice (the most popular flavor for this mixture has been Pink Slush), and a large cup of ice. By taking the protein shake and the Alani and combining them in the cup of ice, it creates a creamy energy drink that can also meet protein goals. All of the ingredients for this recipe can easily be found at local gas stations like Wawa or 7 Eleven if this drink piques your interest.
This next recipe features my personal favorite energy drink, the Coconut Berry Red Bull. It takes a can of Coconut Berry Red Bull, a cup of ice, coconut flavored syrup, and the Coconut Creme flavor of Coffee Mate coffee creamer. This mixture has the same creaminess as the dirty protein Alani, but with a more refreshing twist. Most of the ingredients for this recipe can be found at any local grocery store, and the coconut syrup can be bought on amazon for a low price.
A very customizable version of this trend can be made by ordering a venti cup of ice with half sweet cream cold foam at Starbucks. From there, you can grab your favorite energy drink from the gas station, whether in be Alani Nu, Red Bull, Monster etc. and pour it in the cup with cold foam. This version is a bit sweeter than the others but just as creamy.
Though a “dirty” energy drink might not sound incredibly appealing, giving these unique combinations a try might introduce you to your new favorite drink.
