Don’t be a Scrooge
December 20, 2016
With school, sports, chores, and being constantly on the go, the “most wonderful time of the year,” can feel quite the opposite. Christma-Hana-Kwanzica time only comes once a year so, here are a few things to do to not be a Scrooge.
1) To get into the spirit, start by decorating the house. Just putting up a tree with the bright lights can instantly change the mood of a room.
2) Make Christmas cookies- either the premade store bought ones or from scratch. The smell of cookies is enough to lighten anyone’s mood.
3) One of the easiest ways to get in the spirit is to listen to Christmas music. Even the biggest Scrooge can’t help but sing along.
4) In conjunction with music, watch Christmas movies. TV stations around this time of year play them all the time.
5) Enjoy the scenery. During the holiday season anything from houses to stores are decorated, making festive spirits contagious.
6) Go out to the store, buy the ugliest/funny Christmas sweater, and show it off with pride.
7) Buy a pair of Christmas pajamas; they are both festive and comfortable.
Hopefully these tips can help to make this holiday season merry and lighthearted. If the Christma-Hana-Kwanzica spirit is still alluding, in the iconic words of senior Lauren Mister, “#Christmasisthebestbemerryorgetoutofmylife.”
